In 1993, Goro Tsurumi & Masahiko Takasugi announced "Wrestling Union." Wrestling Union was supposed to become a combination of IWA Kakutou Shijuku, IWA Shonan & IWA Nagareyama, but nothing really came out of that. In April of 1994, Poison Sawada & Shunme Matsuzaki (Kazuhiko Matsuzaki) turned IWA Nagareyama into Union Pro-Wrestling. A year later, on April 28, 1995, Union Pro dissolved.
10 years later, at the DDT June 29, 2005, Tokyo Korakuen Hall show, Poison Sawada announced that he would relive Union. This didn't go well with DDT president, Shoichi Ichimiya and a feud started between them. On August 14, 2005, the two fought in a Union Office Exploding Death Match which Sawada was victorious in. The two then made peace and Sawada scouted for talent and picked up Shuji Ishikawa & Cherry from DDT and freelancers isami & 726.
The Union revival show finally took place on November 3, 2005 at Shin-Kiba 1st RING. Since then, Union has continued to run various shows throughout the following years mostly at Shin-Kiba 1st RING, with most of the shows focusing on Union's ongoing feuds against various promotions & groups.
